Why is it ok to not have a passion?

Life will be fine until one day you ask yourself this question to yourself. “What is my passion?” Some people may not realize what they want to do in life and according to me it is completely fine. According to Oxford definition of passion, it is a a very strong feeling of love, hate, anger, enthusiasm. As we are human being, obviously, those emotion would change. Moreover, having passion is like having a tunnel vision. You focus only on one thing and may miss out some opportunity.
I was asked in an interview “Where do you want to see yourself in 5 years?”. I said I have no plan. Then the interviewer started saying the portion of the story in Alice in wonderland. If you don’t know where you are going, then it doesn’t matter which path you take. I do not know the following experiment then, otherwise I would have lectured the interviewer.😅
Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons conducted an experiment where the participants were shown the video of basketball players passing the ball. The participants were asked to count the number of passes made by the basketball players wearing white T-shirt. What is so special about this experiment? In between the video, a gorilla🦍 appeared on the video for about 9 seconds and about 50% of the participants failed to notice it. Therefore, there is 50% chance that you may miss out your big gorilla opportunity in life, if you follow your passion.
Jeff Bezos was 30 years old when he started Amazon. He was in a well-paid job but he noticed the gorilla🦍 while being in the job. The gorilla🦍 was the internet which was growing at the rate of 2300 percent. He wants to be a part of that. And as a result, you are reading this. (Because I gained knowledge from the books that I mostly ordered in Amazon😜)
So, next time if your friend didn’t smile at you even when he sees you, don’t get angry or disappointed. He may be looking at you but may not be noticing you.
