Why would a sane woman agree to have a second child?

 I am going to give you two options from which you can choose one or else, don’t worry nothing will happen and the world will function as usual no matter what problem you have. Now, the options are

A. I will stab you 10 times.

B. I will stab you 10 times as of the option A and 5 more times which will be less painful when compared to the first 10 times.

Since I have asked you the question, you would most probably choose option A but if I really do that would you choose the same option? Let's find that out from the experiment conducted by Daniel Kahneman

The participants were asked to perform two tasks. One task was to make the participants to put their hand into a container that contained cold water at 14C for 60 seconds. After 7 minutes, second task was performed. It was to make the participants to put their hand in to the 14C cold water for 60 seconds. At the end of the 60 seconds, warm water was allowed into the container for 30 seconds which will make the water to 15C. Participants have no idea about how much time was taken for each task and no clue about warm water running into the container for the last 30 seconds in the second task. Now the participants were allowed to choose between the first two tasks to be repeated again. 80% of the participants choose the second task.

We tend to rate everything based on how well it ended. You go to a function that you hate and spend some horrible 2 hours there but at the end of that function, a gorgeous girl gave you her number and you would say you enjoyed the function. If it is other way around, you would know by then.

Pregnancy is one of the most painful event a woman has to go through. But after so much pain why would she agree to have a second child? I guess, the moment doesn’t end by just delivering the baby. It ends when the relatives come to visit. Also, after child birth women tend to release some hormones like beta-endorphins that make her to reduce the pain and give sense of relief. 

If you are going to finish studying in college for the lifetime, then these last two month matter than the first 22 months.
